The following is an announcement from Mr. Brooks about the Fall 2007 Knowledge Masters Competition held last month:
The results are in from the contest and our school should be very proud of the Knowledge Masters team. Out of 711 schools from the United States, China, Indonesia, Korea, The Phillipines, and the United Arab Emirates, our school placed 226th. This is one of the best scores we have had over the last five years.
Congratulations need to go out to the following team members: Jordan Goebel, Garrett Sohn, Nick Sparkman, Josh Stallings, Dana Call, Cisco Hernandez, Zach Marbach, Bradley Malik, Kelsey Martin, Ascension Rodgriguez, and Sarah Stipanavich.
These students performed very well during the practices leading up to the competition and during the competition itself. Although they had to answer 200 challenging questions over a wide range of subjects, the students enjoyed themselves and had a great time. The breakfast tacos helped a bunch too -- thank you Mr. Burks.
An announcement will be made in February about signing up for the Spring Contest in April. All of the members from this past contest are invited to participate as well as anyone else who is interested.
7th and 8th grade students:
Remind your parents that Thursday night, there will be an informational meeting on The Worth The Wait sex education program that is taught at NBMS in the spring. The speaker is Dr. Dorothy Overman, and she will explain the curriculum to parents, so they can make an informed decision on whether they feel you are ready for this program. Take home your reminder notices. The date is Thursday, January 10th @ 6:30, and will meet in the school cafeteria.
